Sydney Metro Program
Case study 1 – Independent review of the Sydney Metro Program for the Contractors
AOS has been involved in an independent program review for one of the Sydney Metro Programs of work. In principle, a program's weaknesses, strengths, risks, and opportunities are objectively analysed during these intense processes. The independent quality checks provide various benefits for the Project delivery team and a comprehensive set of action plans that pave the way for the project's success.
AOS's involvement in the recent Sydney Metro program has been transformative, showcasing the effectiveness of our independent program review approach. Our expert panel's insights on Program integrity, Program Quality, and Program risks have significantly contributed to the project's success. Some of the key deliverables in the project were as follows:
-
Review the inter-relationship within the respective packages (stations, linewide and rollingstock) and across the overall program.
-
Review and offer potential areas of focus where the project program could be improved to provide resilience or earlier completion times for program elements.
-
Reviewing the robustness and completeness of interfaces across the program and corresponding links.
-
Providing recommendations on the areas that have a high impact on achieving the current forecast date for completion
As part of the report, AOS provided several specific recommendations for risk mitigation and program quality improvement. These recommendations, which the project team welcomed and are currently being implemented with our assistance, are the critical driver of value engineering and are leading to cost and time improvement outocme in the project.
